Well there you have it! Is it sad that I remember where I found everything? I blame it on the OCD.. Also, I realize that I’ve been posting a lot lately, rather than Derek, but he’s been in California all week for work so he’s been a little busy. Things should be back in order by Monday! :)

Happy Weekend!

happy weekend!

We spent this past weekend in Houston. I decided to bake some oatmeal banana muffin tops with homemade icing because 1. neither of us can have chocolate at the moment, and 2. I had a bunch of bananas that were definitely past their prime. I think they ended up being a hit.. If you want the recipe let me know!

Saturday night we ended up going downtown to support one of Derek’s friends who was in an art show forHouston Critical Mass at Caroline Collective. After that we headed over to kill some time at the Flying Saucer where the most ridiculous middle-aged bachelorette party was happening. After a Spaten Opitmator or two we walked over to Dean’s Credit Clothing to shoot Keaton Branch and The Figure Eight.

Here are some shots from the night:

Sunday was our monthaversary and we decided to do some antiquing/thrifting/shopping/etc. Driving by all of the shops on Westheimer, we were getting pretty excited especially when we saw an Eames lounge just hanging out on the sidewalk. Although after further examination discovered it was a replica. Don’t worry, there was a real one inside.

We quickly grew tired of overpriced pieces of junk and the smell of moth balls, so we decided to cheer ourselves up with a trip to Design Within Reach. Where we could ogle at craftsmanship that deserves to cost as much as it does.

After wishing and dreaming, we had to go somewhere more affordable, you know the kind of place where you get to build your own furniture. Where else? IKEA. We left with some lamps and storage boxes, because well you can never have enough lighting or storage. After dropping off everything at the car, I excitedly psyched Derek up for running (me skipping) back inside and having Swedish Meatballs (my absolute favorite) for dinner. Although I ended up getting super sick, it was totally worth it! (sidenote.. I want this table)

I hope all of you were able to enjoy the fantastic weather as well! Until next time!
