house crashing: another fresh nest

Welp, it’s that time again! We have another house crashing photo tour for your stalking viewing pleasure. A few weekends ago Derek and I traveled to Houston to attend two surprise parties and to photograph our bestie’s new apartment. You may remember our friend Crystal-FRESH from this house crashing post of yore, but you may not recognize her apartment or furniture for that matter. That’s because 1. she and her husband moved, and 2. because she goes through furniture/accessories like nobody’s business. Let’s face it. The girl knows how to style a space. And fast! They’ve been living in their apartment two months less than I’ve had mine and it looks like they’ve lived there for years, whereas mine.. well.. there is a reason I haven’t shown you any photos of it yet. Anyway! She especially excels at making the most of very small spaces. Here is a floor plan of her apartment she put together to help you see how small this place really is:

While shooting we definitely ate cake and drank beer. Just your average Saturday afternoon. Can you guess who is who? Hint: it’s racist.

Do you want to be next on our house crashing tour? We’d love to share your swanky digs with our readers! You get a photographer and stylist in one modern couple [yep, that just happened]. If you’d like to be featured in our house crashing series, let us know and we’ll add it to the tour. [Yes that means YOU Lori Stepnoski!!!]

house crashing: back to the future

Welp, it’s that time again! We have another house crashing photo tour for your stalking viewing pleasure. Our dear friend Raul has decided to share his home with us. This time though, we didn’t go and shoot the photos because he’s actually in the process of moving. BUT his boyfriend Chris had taken some photos before chaos and boxes ensued, so without further ado..

Don’t you just die over that claw foot tub? Swoon. So you’re probably wondering why the title of this post is “Back to the Future”, let’s just say that you’ll be seeing a lot more of this house in your near future. That’s all we can say for now. Stay tuned!

house crashing: a marvel-ous manor

Welp, it’s that time again! We have another house crashing photo tour for your stalking viewing pleasure. A few weekends ago we ventured out to the Northside of San Antonio to shoot our friend Joaquin’s amazing split-level home. He’s lived there for the past six years and looking at each perfectly placed pillow and book, it shows. We’re so used to crashing apartments where the owners are a little more transitional, so it was refreshing to see a more established space that has been assembled over time. Joaquin doesn’t skimp on the details as you’ll see in some of our favorite shots from the day.

Now does the title make sense? Joaquin has sprinkled comic book characters [namely Wonder Woman] throughout his home which adds the perfect dash of personality. And all of the artwork you see? He did all of it. Amazing right? So who hates their own house now? He has definitely inspired us to take it up a notch when it comes to making the spaces we live in our own.

house crashing: a fresh nest

Welp, it’s that time again! We have another house crashing photo tour for your stalking viewing pleasure. This past weekend we went to Houston and shot our BFFs’ new apartment. Crystal-Fresh and Mike went from a huge fancy-pants apartment, to a smaller space filled with lots of character. Exposed brick, huge windows, wall-to-wall bookshelves, and lots and lots of dark hardwood. We’ve always been a sucker for older real estate, and their apartment is a prime example of why. Here are some of our favorite shots from the day:
