vintage stamps are for sale (again!)

As of today, I have officially started taking orders again for vintage stamps. After you guys cleaned me out in less than 48 hours a few months ago it took me a while to play catch up, but I’m back in business again.

stamps1

Vintage stamps can still be used as standard postage today, as long as all of the denominations add up to the standard postage rate. They are all “face value” meaning that whatever number is written on them that’s what they’re worth (ie: .6 cents = .6 cents), and I have several colors, themes, shapes and sizes.

stamps2

The going postage rate for a standard letter right now is .46cents and for an oversize (or square) letter (like wedding invitations) is .66cents. So I’ll be selling them in packs of .46cent sets and .66cent sets so that you will have the exact amount you need for each of your letters. Basically if you buy 10 packs this means you have enough stamps sorted for you to mail 10 letters. Got it?

So after choosing your quantity you can then specify if you simply want a mix of stamps (totally random themes, shapes, sizes, etc.)

or to follow a theme like botanicals/nature:

Or if you want your bundle to be small with only a couple stamps with high denominations:

Or large with several stamps using small denominations:

The choice is yours! I’m charging $1.00 per set of standard .46cent packs and $1.50 per set of oversized .66cent packs. Why am I charging more than their worth? Call it a labor fee. I did sit down for hours to hand pick each and every one of these stamps, none of them are random they are all stamps that I have chosen due to their colors, images, sizes, etc. So you won’t be getting a bunch of American flags and doves (unless you want them?). Any stamp you see pictured above I own, and to see more of my collection go here (which only shows you about 5% of what I have.. I’ve also added a TON of Christmas themed ones for your next Christmas cards). To see more ideas on how to use vintage stamps with your letters go here.

Each year Pantone chooses a color of the year, and we love anything related to color! Last year they chose our beloved little Honeysuckle which we definitely saw all over the runway and in our favorite homes. So this year, get ready for…..

Spicy right? Doesn’t it make you just want to party? Take a plunge this year and paint a wall Tangerine Tango. I dare you!

Running 101: Nike+ GPS App

I’m sure you saw that wonderful little post from the girl about my half marathon. While I was running I used the Nike+ GPS App on my iPhone 4 (or 3GS)  to help me keep track of my distance and hand me my jams for the duration of the race. I’ve been using the Nike+ with my iPod Nano and it was cool, but this really took it to the next step.

The iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS have a built in receiver that communicates with the transceiver in your shoes. The Nike+ shoes have a spot for you to place the transceiver or you can buy a little adapter pouch that you can use with any shoes. This tracks every step you take, how long it takes between strides and the phone tracks your location. All of this put together gives you some really cool data to help you better your runs.

You can choose how you want to track your run. You can choose basic, or you can set a distinct time, or a specific distance like a few miles.

Once you decide what kind run your going to do, you can then choose your music, location, and “Cheers.” It will link with facebook and post your status as your running if you choose to do so. People can comment on the post and the App will “cheer” you on.

Start running and you can change songs, check your distance, pace, and time. Once your done you can hit play/pause button and end the workout.

At the end it displays your stats, and you can then review your route info. You can view it in 2 major ways… 1. Where you hit a certain Mile, and 2. How fast you were going at what point in your run in relation to WHERE you were. Were you going up stairs, running up or down a hill, get caught at a traffic light?

Then once it’s all over it keeps track of each run and interfaces with the Nike+ website to save all your run data.

It’s a very cool, very techno-savvy way to train and stay fit. You can be certain that I will be using this more. I highly recommend you try it. It’s a relatively cheap app and the transceiver for your shoe is is $20. Pretty awesome way to keep track of your progress. Have you tried any other training apps? Have you used the Nike+ with the iPod Nano?
