Did you know that you can easily get permanent marker out of any hard surface without using chemicals? I’ve only learned this trick after years of working as an Interior Designer and receiving tile samples with prices sharpied on them. No client wants to see numbers all over their beautiful glass tile. This is also helpful for anyone with kids (I hear they like to write on stuff??) or for those of you who thrift a lot, and hate cleaning the prices off of your finds with alchohol or nail polish remover. It’s not fun!
Ready for some magic?
Here is on of many milk glass vases I picked up over Labor Day weekend to use for the wedding. Look at that price. Just smack dab in the middle of the vase! Annoying.

Just take a dry-erase marker and scribble all over the permanent maker. You’ll start to see/feel it lift off.

And erase!! Yes it is that easy.

Okay one more time for the people in the back! This was another vase I picked up that day. At least they had the decency to write the price on the bottom of this one.

Scribble scribble scribble with dry-erase..

And voila! Erase it and it’s gone!

I just love tricks like this that make your day a little easier. In the past I would have probably passed up thrift store items that had permanent marker on them, but ever since learning this trick it doesn’t even phase me.

Oh my gosh! What a handy trick. Thanks for sharing!
P.S. Love the milk glass!

Wow, sweet! I came here thinking it might be sunscreen as the magical solution. That works a lot of the time, too!

Oh weird! I never knew about sunscreen being able to do that. Just think.. if it can remove permanent marker, what is it doing to our skin!?!? :)

:O I’m probably going to try this on my desk at work today. I used to use white toothpaste! This is a MUCH less messy option!!
