Okay let’s just clarify that this is Derek writing this post. Catharine does not in fact own any groomsmen. Since she introduced her lovely ladies last week, I felt that it was my turn to share with everyone a little something about five of my best friends, who just so happen to be my groomsmen.

Name: Chris Haskell Hometown: San Antonio, TX Currently Lives: San Antonio, TX What he’s up to: Chris is currently working as an Architectural Intern for Don B. McDonald, while also working as a freelance metal fabricator. 10 things Chris can’t live without Why he’s great: I met Chris during our first year of studios in Architecture school. After a few nights slaving over drawings together we became close friends and started traveling and camping together. We also lived in Italy together for a semester. We have designed and built several pieces of furniture over the years and plan for many more. We have been dear friends ever since. |

Name: Ari Lozano Hometown: Houston, TX Currently Lives: Houston, TX What he’s up to: Ari is currently rockin’ it at The University of Houston in pursuit of a degree in Music Education. He also teaches drum line through private lessons because he’s awesome. Why he’s great: Ari and I met in 7th grade where he claims that I tried to start a fight with him but I have no recollection of it. We were both in band together, Ari played percussion and I played several other things. We began a metal band together along with our friend Chris Longoria [see below] and have been absolute best friends ever since.

Name: Chris Longoria Hometown: Houston, TX Currently Lives: Houston, TX What he’s up to: Chris is currently working as a Pharmaceutical Technician at BCP. Why he’s great: Chris and I met through Ari in junior high. He has an insanely skilled hand at guitar and an extreme passion for music which he shared with both Ari and I. We played in a band together, hung out probably more than our parents wanted us to, but have always been best friends.

Name: Steve Williams Hometown: San Antonio, TX Currently Lives: San Antonio, TX What he’s up to: Steve is currently working as an Architectural Intern at Drewry Martin Architects. 10 things Steve can’t live without Why he’s great: Steve and I were in Design I together, the intro to architecture where they destroy you and then tell you good luck. Steve has a deep love for cars, and his Datsun 240 Z that he rebuilt himself. Steve and I are proficient graphic designers and connoisseurs of homemade pizza. There is a constant struggle with who has the better crust.

Name: Steve Stinson Hometown: Austin, TX Currently Lives: San Antonio, TX What he’s up to: Steve is currently working as an Architectural Intern for Candid Rogers while finishing up his Masters in Architecture. 10 things Steve can’t live without Why he’s great: Steve was also in my Design I class and shared several studios and lectures with me. We both enjoy a good beer/wine and thoroughly enjoy debating graphic design and architectural theory. Steve has a beautiful sketching hand and is pretty mean on drums (Steve and I played in a band too, but we don’t discuss it. The lead singer was a pretty big diva) Big Steve is always a guaranteed smile and is full of laughs.
