wedding wednesday: DIY marriage certificate

June 13 2012

Yesterday officially marked our 6 month point until the wedding. Eeek! [that's both scared and excited] Scared because I still have SO much to do, and time is seriously flying. How is it already June?? Anyway, this may mean that wedding posts may start to double up each week because I have so much to share with you, but I like keeping it to a weekly thing, as not to overwhelm some of you who hate wedding talk. We’ll see how it goes.

Derek and I have been thinking about guestbook ideas for when our guests walk into the church [not the guestbook at the reception, we have a whole other plan for that one]. But rather than having a stuffy book for people to sign that we will probably never look at we wanted to create something more meaningful that we could display in our home to remember everyone who was a part of our big day. I started doing some research and came across this cool Quaker inspired wedding certificate:

I love the idea of having our signatures, the officiant’s, along with all of our guests who witnessed our exchanging of vows. It seems like such a precious document to have and frame. So we plan on designing one ourselves [duh], but here are some other’s we’ve found that we absolutely adore.

Aren’t these wonderful? I can’t wait to get started on the design for ours. We’ll be sure to share it with you very soon!

I like it! I would much rather sign this than a cushiony, feathery, book with a faux quill pen
