Although I basically asked all of my favorite ladies to be my bridesmaids the night of our engagement, I thought it would be nice to give them a more formal invitation. So I made each one a box filled with lots of goodies and info about the wedding and this next year 8 months {!!!} of planning. I figured they should be the first to know about my ideas and what they’ll be wearing before I share it with the internets.

Each box is filled with the following:

Each box contained six swatches of our wedding colors that the girls can take with them when searching for craft paper for all of exciting DIY projects I have up my sleeve. All tied together with a gold glittery ribbon.

I typed up cards explaining the details of our day, their role as a bridesmaid, what their dresses would look like [along with how each girl would represent their color], and each girl’s contact info [which has all been blurred out obvy].

Each girl has been assigned a color, which was represented by the color of box they received. I want the girls to wear black classic dresses and colored tights. Each box included a card with the color of tights she would be wearing paired with my inspiration dress. I’ve never been afraid of color so this idea may not be for everyone, but I think it’s a fun way to keep the girls warm in December.

I also included this inspiration card [shown front and back] with some of my ideas for a fresh and modern wedding. Lots of gold, colorful pinwheels, Eames chairs, colorful bouquets, and of course my inspiration pillow.

Each box also contained a small glossy white “ceramic animal”, which will be used in the centerpieces of each table. More on that later.. [ps: how not surprised are you?]

The lip balm was just a little something extra that I thought the girls deserved for taking time our of their lives to be apart of our special day. And there’s more where that came from!

Because all of my girls live all over the country I added tissue paper to the insides of the boxes to keep everything in place for shipping. I so wish I could have hand delivered all of them. So now that most of my wedding secrets are out of the bag I’m excited about sharing some of our crazy DIY projects with you guys!
