WHAT THEY DO: make the best cupcakes in all of the world
PRICE RANGE: $
I’m going to go ahead and preface that this post is going to cause a huge debate. BUT in our opinion, Crave has the best cupcakes in the world. That’s right. The world! Crave is local to Houston, and now has two locations. Anytime Derek and I have visited one, there is always a line out the door and wrapped around the building. Why? Because they’re seriously that good. Personally I’m not a huge chocolate cake/cupcake fan because any I’ve had are never moist [shudder] enough. So I usually judge a cupcake place by the moistness of their chocolate cupcakes and crave passes with flying colors!
But Crave doesn’t just have amazing chocolate cupcakes they have dozens and dozens of daily flavors that rotate everyday. My personal favorite is their Red Velvet, Banana, Strawberry, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Pumpkin, and Crave Mint Chocolate. The only problem is that they sell out fast, so if you really want a particular flavor or a whole fleet of them you can order online and then pick them up! Talk about a quick-fix. It’s a good thing they’re all the way in Houston or I’d be mega-fat.
We always go in for just one each, yet we always leave with a box because we can’t decide on only two flavors. It’s pathetic really, but they’re all just so good! The best part though is getting to watch the assembly line behind the glass just baking and frosting away. It really is a science seeing how fast/perfect they can frost each cupcake. The whole interior is super retro and we just die over their packaging and vintage mixers that line the back wall.
So are you hungry yet? If only there was a Crave in SA. We’re big fat cupcake connoisseurs and have been to every cupcake joint in the Hill Country and have yet to be impressed. So c’mon Crave open a store here! We promise to be your number 1 and 2 customers.
Have you been to Crave Cupcakes? Or are you still gung-ho for the big cupcake chain who shall not be named? Tell us about it!
