We’re continuing with our series called Awesome & Awkward Thursday inspired by our friend Sydney over at The Daybook. We weren’t planning on doing this every week, but we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from you guys so the series continues!

top {langford market}, jacket {forever21}, jeans {gap}, shoes {bcbg}, earrings {h&m}, ring {kate spade}, necklace {yours truly.. details soon}

- Attempting to park in the only empty spot in the parking lot. Why was it empty? Because it’s little car-stopping-curb-barricade-thing was twisted and halfway into the parking space. Well why on earth would that stop me? I’ll just move it! heh… I sprang out of my car ready to show that curb thingy who was boss. It was the curb, definitely the curb. I had NO idea how much something like that would weigh. What’s even worse is when I went to tell The Boy all about it and actually expecting him to be astonished, with maybe a response like “that’s so weird, they’re usually so light! It must have been some special extra heavy version”.. yep. I’m an idiot.
- Seeing people you only only only see in a professional environment.. in their swimsuits. None of you guys looked bad, don’t get me wrong! It’s just weird.. Like.. I’m used to you in a tie, kinda thing.
- The amaaaaazing people who frequent Klusoz. Our friend Quinn got us in to their VIP lounge [next to the alleged Tony Parker] and it gave us a birds-eye view into the lifestyles of the rich and single. I don’t know what was more awkward. The painters gone wild video, the shirts worn as dresses, or the Creeper McCreeperson luring Jessica with his dance moves. A classic Jessiquinn evening.
- The shenanigans and phone tag I have to go through just to get a prescription filled. I was so close to marching down to the doctor and dragging her to my pharmacy to have them duke it out.
- Trying to open bottles that don’t twist, without a bottle opener. Quinn and The Boy rose to the challenge. It involved coolers, blood, brick ledges, and drowning one of our friends with booze. Note to self. Get a keychain, or a flip flop, whatever you wish.
- Apparently I’m co-hosting a Stella & Dot party tonight. Although I had no control over the invites, nor when they were sent out. So if you love jewelry and/or me, let me know and I’ll give you the deets.
- Staying up until 3am. My college self is laughing at me right now. I don’t know what happens between the ages of 21 and 25 but after the clock says something about AM, I’m out. Also, only the crazies are out at that time of night. Nothing good comes of this.

- Getting an early start on our Saturday by shooting our friend Joaquin’s house at 9am. I can’t wait to post these babies. Prepare to be amazed!
- Hanging out with lots of different friends this weekend. I really do love the people in my life :)
- Having crazy deadlines at works has caused my workdays to fly by, which is always delightful. Minus the fact that that just means the deadlines are getting closer. Oh well!
- Movies by Moonlight AKA watching classic movies on the side of a building every Thursday in Hemisfair Park. Last week was Despicable Me and tonight is Happy Feet. Join us! Bring a picnic and some adult beverages.. except no glass bottles. And the best part? It’s FREE! You should get there early though because it fills up fast.
- Getting to catch up with my Bestie on video iChat the other night. It’s like nothing has changed. Except for how far away we live. Sad face.
- Eating at The Cove tonight. It has been way. too. long. Let me paint you a picture. Texas Burger = meat, avocado, black beans, tortilla chip strips, salsa + sweet potato fries. That’s right. Oh and it’s all 100% organic and locally grown. What up.
- Our plans for this weekend: shopping, laying out by the pool, forts, and pancakes.
What are some awkward/awesome things that have happened to you this week? Embracing the awkward makes you awesome!

Great times! I hope you enjoy Happy Feet tonight, wish I was there! Also…don’t forget the bottle opener. Also also, don’t try to find beverages on the East side.

Oh man Derek and I were craving those mini jack and cokes (jacks and coke? ..I’ve never pluralized that) so we pulled up to this shanky store and LUCKILY it was closed!!! Phew! I literally dodged a bullet!

Can these be numbered? because i’m dying to comment on ALL OF THEM AND I HAVE NO REFERENCE! :P I hate getting in a bathing suit in front of people, it’s not that I’m ashamed of my body, BUT for the exact reason that you mentioned….IT’S JUST WEIRD.
Remind me if i ever gift you with a bottle that doesn’t twist, to also gift you with an opener…SCARY.
I don’t think I know the last time I seen 3 a.m. on my clock, OH WAIT, ROYAL WEDDING DAY When I set my alarm for 3:30 a.m.!!!!! :D I die. Also, when I come to s.a. again, i want one of those burgers….and this time I’m NOT going to split it with mike….doh! stupid idea.

Haha I think I’ll start numbering them now, just for you!! I still don’t see how you split a Texas burger, that would just leave me wanting more!! ….so when will you be here next?????

Can you still respect me if you find out that I still haven’t made it to The Cove? Shameful, yes.
I’m with you on the awkwardness that is seeing folks you know in their bathing suits. It’s like ‘hi, here I am in my bra and underwear and look, there you are with 90% of your body showing…..’

That IS shameful! You would seriously love it! As would the kids. They have live music every night and a play area outside surrounded by picnic tables. And the food is to. die. for. I’m not even kidding. :)
