We’re continuing with our series called Awesome & Awkward Thursday inspired by our friend Sydney over at The Daybook. We weren’t planning on doing this every week, but we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from you guys so the series continues!

• Not having Memorial Day off this week. It was a little lame considering the firm only got about 7 calls all day, it was nice to catch up on some work though, wait.. nice? Who am I?

• This necklace weighs about 1.5 million pounds, but I love it. It also makes me hotter than wearing scarves in 101ºF weather. Oh you didn’t know I did that? Get excited.

• About 5′ away all of my neighbors were having a pool party / grill fest, and probably thought I was crazy making Zoolander faces at my boyfriend and his camera.

• My ears are completely different from each other, and are pierced extremely uneven. Photo number 4 is proof of that. I mean really, she barely got my ear. And she had a lot of lobe to work with!

• Fiber bars. These ones. They taste like the amazing chewy oatmeal granola bars that kids eat, but are loaded with fiber! Except that halfway through the day they made us want to die. As Derek described it, “it was like squirrels in my stomach.” So now we’re down to half a bar, but it’s so hard when they taste SO good! So I just remember the squirrels and that scares me into wrapping up the other half and saving it for the next day.
• Arguing with someone about when the “i5″ comes out. Our conversation:

Him: “the i5 comes out this week”

Me: “what is that?”

Him: “the next iPhone”

Me: “no one knows when it’s coming out yet, and no one knows it’s name”

Him: “but that’s what the internet said”

Me: “well the internet does = truth”

Him: “it says it at the Apple store too!”

Me: “I promise it doesn’t”

• I met another lovely through the blog [thanks Brooke!]. She lives in SA, she’s an Interior Designer, and she is my soulmate because she’s just as awkward as me! Win :)

• Birthmonth deals! Since the end of May was quickly approaching Derek and I spent all of my $5 off here, 15% off there, and obtained my free Starbucks drink on Saturday before it was June. It really was the greatest day.

• Helping my stylist [and dear friend] decorate his salon. More details soon!

• Homemade sangria. To. Die. For.

• Laying by the pool Friday after work, it’s my new favorite tradition!

• Going to Houston/Galveston this weekend for the AIA Sandcastle Competition, SO excited! Remember when we went last year?
