Get it? Because it’s dyed? Anywho.. Ikat textiles have been around for centureies, and like to make their appreance in the design world from time to time. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Ikat [pronounced "ee-kot"] is a dying process where either the warp or weft yarns, or both are tie-died and then woven [depending on the desired pattern] which creates this cool blurred coloring effect that you see in each textile. Now more than ever Ikat is everywhere! Clothing, drapery, bowls, even ikat inspired beaded belts? Just the look and inspiration of Ikat gets me all excited. Here are some of our favorite Ikat looks.

[1] shirt [2] spacecraft unicorn pelt bi-fold wallet [3] osborn ikat oxford [4] vintage ikat bow tie [5] shorts [6] scarf

[1] jaylona heels [2] ikat eternity scarf [3] minimarket ikat dress [4] vivien ikat dot one-shoulder dress [5] belted ikat print skirt [6] maggie london cotton ikat dress [7] ikat stretch beaded belt [8] sequin small ikat enamel bangles

[1] ikat ogee linen window panels [2] indigo ikat slipper chair [3] amede towels [4] blue and white ikat melamine dinnerware [5] oki rug [6] large ikat dots pillow [7] marsha coasters [8] dynamic ikat euro sham [9] african ikat pillow
I just love how it adds bold prints and colors and kind of a tribal vibe to a space. Pair any of those pillows with a neutral solid colored couch and you’re good to go. Spring and Summer are all about color so why not add some ikat to your wardrobe and interiors?

number 4 is so cute!
