First of all, I’d like to wish my dad a very happy birthday!! :) You’re the best!
Okay so the official vote is in and the winner is…… TEAL! Once I found out the color, rather than actually working and putting some elbow grease into sanding my new Hepplewhite chair, I spent the majority of Saturday hunting down the perfect upholstery fabric. Now of course if money weren’t an option and my dream fabrics were actually attainable.. I would already have selected mine. Like in about .25 seconds. But noooooo.. Honestly I wouldn’t even mind paying the $130/yd, but you can’t even order fabric from F. Schumacher unless you give them your first born child (or are a registered Interior Designer.. minor details really). It really makes me miss the days of being an intern at a design firm and living in a city that HAS a Schumacher and just waltzing in and picking out whatever I want.. sigh.. Anyways, one day ONE DAY I will upholster my entire house [exaggeration] in Chiang Mai Dragon and Kelly Wearstler’s Imperial Trellis:
derek definitely freaked out when I showed him this entryway.. apparently “but it’s Kelly Wearstler” wasn’t a good enough argument to him. Fine.
So until that day I found some pretty cool [much cheaper and easily attainable] alternatives along the way. Check them out!
for less than $20/yd:
for $40-50/yd
for $90/yd
for $100+/yd
I ended up finding some pretty legit replicas of the Imperial Trellis fabric, but none were in the correct colors. So what do you guys think? Which fabric could you see with a dark teal chair? I may even compromise and change it to navy for some of these fun yellow fabrics.. but then again the Pantone colors of the year are teal and yellow:
so I guess I’m really up for anything! I need some input though! Which fabrics do you guys like? OR do you have the hookup with F. Schumacher? Either way, I’d love to hear what you have to say!
Until next time!

My favorite is the flowery one on the top right of $20/yard. I also like the animal one, but maybe that’s because I live with a two-year-old! Teal and yellow is my favorite color combo. Do it!

I want to know where you found that top right fabric for under $20. so cute!
oh and teal is the way to go, my wedding color :)

the $90yd fabrics look more like the $20/yd fabrics. My OP-i-nion is: definitely Row 2 Column 2 of the $20/yd fabric…I like that it’s neutral which will allow the teal to stand out, and steal has a mind of it’s own. “A sneaky mind”…That’s what i would name the chair :)

i realize i had a typo…”steal” instead of “still”…you can see what’s on my mind :P

My sister Teel and I like the $20 fabric on the right. Thanks for the education in upholstery fabrics. I am now up to date on all I cannot afford, but yes they are really cool

Margarita – I completely agree with the teal and yellow.. I kind of love the zoo animals too haha.
Delaney – The top right fabric is found here: http://bit.ly/drtFOT and its only $8.95/yd! :D You should really peruse that website there are lots of cute fabrics for super cheap, oh and I’ve been stalking your wedding blog and your ideas are SO cute!! I love your bouquet!
Crystal-Fresh – I just KNEW you’d love that silver and white ikat damask! I fell in love with it instantly and thought of you haha strange :)
Sisters – which $20 on the right? There are 3! Oh and I can definitely make you some pillows with any leftover fabric I have :)

I am liking the center left fabric in the $40-50/yard fabric. I also think you should just sand the chair and leave it natural! Somewhat like the salvaged wood collection at Restoration Hardware. I know you used to love that place!

JBG – I was thinking about sanding it down completely.. it turns out its cherry which is interesting, but there is a LOT more work involved. Yeah I’m LOVING the new line at RH, and did you know the one by the Galleria is closing? Yup! The whole store is half off!! :D
PS: How’ve you been?
[Reply]
I am sure this is very wrong of me but I just can’t help it, I think the very last row ($100+/yd) the first and third one. I am sorry I know it’s not good for your budget BUT your birthday is coming uo so I think you should spoil your self :)
[Reply]
Oh, the Cherry does present a problem Oak would have been the ideal wood for that, or maybe even Elm. Did not know that about RH Galleria but will definitely be looking into it. I am about to have to furnish a whole house!
PS: I am doing well, thanks for asking. Looks like you have been doing well for yourself! I am really liking what I see in this blog!

Lauren – you have expensive taste.. I like it!! I’m really leaning toward the yellow and white chevron ($20 2nd row far right) but I seem to be the only one who likes it lol.. what can I say I love bright colors.
JBG – let me know if you need any help furnishing this house of yours, I love spending other people’s money! :D Glad to hear you’re doing well, as am I. Thanks for the blog compliments! I hope we continue to keep you interested :)

Hello All,
First- time- blogger here….
Anyways, I was wondering what you guys of this selection of fabric & wallpaper:
first, I have a charcoal grey headboard (with nickel studs trim) it is a eastern king so it take up most of the back wall, but I would like to put imperial trellis in charcoal with imperial trellis drapes also in charcoal behind the bed? The charcoal matches the bed brillantly. too much????
the wall is about 15 feet with three windows above the bed, so I would like to cover the windows all together and and have the wall and drapes flow into one, with a circular glam mirror on each wall taking up a good portion of the wall without drapes ? too crazy????

Can you tell me where to get the fabric in the $20 row, bottom right, black geometric print. I have been looking for that but with a cream background and black geo.
Thank you!

Kelly,
Everyone has been asking me about that fabric! :) I’m not exactly sure where that particular one was from but there are a lot of similar versions at Fabric Farms, Decorative Fabrics Direct 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5, and Calico Corners 1 – 2.
It’s called Emilio by Braemore. I hope this helps!
